Welcome to the 2011-2012 Bison Club Volleyball season!
My name is Lisa Peters and I am the new Junior Bison Coordinator here at the University of Manitoba. I am very excited to bring my background, experience and enthusiasm to this position and look forward to meeting all club players and parents in the months to come!
I grew up as an avid 4 sport athlete in Randolph, MB. Through my many years of sport I played competitive Hockey, Softball, Volleyball and Basketball. As a senior in high school I was selected to play on the Team MB Hockey team that competed in the Canada Summer Games in Cornerbrook, Nfld, and was honored to have been chosen to be the team captain. That year I was also recruited to play Division I college hockey in Bemidji, MN, where I was chosen to captain the team for 4 years.
I graduated from Bemidji State University in 2003 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Physical Education & Health Education and a minor in Coaching. I then went on to complete my Masters degree at St Cloud State University in 2006 with a Masters in Sport Management.
Since finishing my education I have been involved in sports and recreation on a coaching level as well as a professional level. I am currently the Assistant Coach for the Bison Women's Hockey team as well as the Assistant Coach for the Eastman Region Pee Wee Softball team that will compete at the MB Summer Games in July 2012. Over the past 5 years I have worked in the sport and recreational world at the YMCA of Greater St Paul, MN and most recently as the Manager of Sport Services at the Central Corydon Community Centre.
I am very excited to join Bison Sports and am looking forward to another successful season of Club Volleyball!
